Matchings · Application: Stable Matching
Lesson 8
The stable matching problem has many practical applications: assigning students to internships, patients to hospitals, or requests to servers. In 2012, Lloyd Shapley, together with economist Alvin Roth, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for contributions to the theory of stable allocations and the practice of market design.
